The "Krusty Krab" is a fast food restaurant in the city of Bikini Bottom, founded and owned by Eugene H. Krabs. The Krusty Krab used to be a fancy boat as seen in Grandpappy the Pirate and then a retirement home, as seen in Krusty Krab Training Video. It is the most popular restaurant in Bikini Bottom. Mr. Krabs loves money and is openly concerned only with making money. Because of this, he frequently pays his employees cheaply. The restaurant's signature food and reason for its popularity is the Krabby Patty and Jelly Patty. Other products include typical fast food products such as fries and sodas, as well as underwater foods such as "Coral Bits" and "Kelp Rings", which are known as the "Galley Grub". Other than Mr. Krabs himself, the restaurant has only 2 full-time employees: SpongeBob SquarePants, the fry cook, and Squidward Tentacles, the cashier. SpongeBob loves his job and is great at it, while Squidward hates his job and is terrible at it. The two employees work together great (according to SpongeBob) and terribly (according to Squidward); Squidward hates SpongeBob, while SpongeBob thinks he is one of his best friends. The Krusty Krab's main business competitor is the Chum Bucket, owned by Sheldon J. Plankton, Mr. Krabs' personal best friends. While the Chum Bucket, the restaurant's only competitor usually fails, there have been some short times when the Chum Bucket wasn't failing. These infrequent short periods of time are the only times when the Krusty Krab has any competition. Stephen Hillenburg's original name for the Krusty Krab was the "Crusty Crab," but he decided that the intentional misspelling was funnier. As of April 22nd, 2010, the Krusty Krab has served over 2,478,921,437 Customers.
